30 Day Challenge: Day 6

Day 06 - A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day.
This was SO hard to decide, but I would love to trade places with Lauren Froderman for a day!
In case you didn't know, Lauren was the winner of 'So You Think You Can Dance' this last year. I would LOVE to be able to dance like her... She makes it all look easy! Besides that, she's hilarious! I just love her!

Here's a vid of her doing hip hop:

My favorite from her comptemporary:

30 Day Challenge: Day 5

Sorry, I totally skipped out on a day, but it's sooo hard to decide!
*UPDATE: I was looking at the challenge for Day 6. FAIL*

Day 05 - A picture of your favorite memory.
There are so many favorite memories to chose from. :)
This occured last year, a Friday about March-April-ish, when I ditched school to see my friend Sam play the Pirate King (again; he was Pirate King when Heritage did it!), in Pirates of Penzance! 'Twas very amazing & hilarious all at once! After the play, I had to go back to school for musical practice. Yup, this memory makes me very happy :]

30 Day Challenge: Day 4

Day 04 - A picture of your favorite night.
OK, this was more like one of my favorite days of my life. I'm sorry about the picture, but it's the only decent one of the few pics that were taken that day. *

*I apologize in advance because all of the facts are going to be scattered*

Pretty much, this was the day when LIGHT went to a Show Choir Summit in Surprise. It wasn't just LIGHT, but also quite a few other show choirs. We had one day to learn the choreography, and in my case, the music, then we performed it that very night. Three of the top choreographers in the country were there: one of them actually choreographed the Lion King & Tarzan for LIGHT, the other two were gay...

There was an all-boys number (Wild Things), and there was an all-girls number (Party in the U.S.). The whole group split in half and each half did another number. My half did "Jai Ho" (I loooove that song and I LOVED the choreography! Look it up on my playlist), the other half did "Car Wash".

There are so many more reasons why it was one of my most favorite days, but I'm sure it could get boring, so I'll just leave it at that, haha :)

30 Day Challenge: Day 3

Day 03 : A picture of the cast from your favorite show.
I love this show, like, sooo much! I have not been able to watch it though because life is busy :(

30 Day Challenge: Day 2

Day 2: A picture of you and the person you have been close with for the longest.

This is Laura. I have known her since 7th grade, but we didn't actually start to hangout until 8th grade. I can say that she is one of my very best friends, since we're pretty much inseparable, despite the fact that we have been going to different schools for two years. Plus, we can totally finish each others sentences. Creepy, but it's awesome :) I loves her!!!!

30 Day Challenge: Day 1

One of my dear friends is doing a 30 Day Challenge thing on Facebook, so I decided to do it on Blogger :) This is going to be fun :)

Day 1: A picture of yourself with fifteen facts.

1. I LOVE reptiles. Forget having a family dog, I'm going to have a Banana Iguana!
2. I have been size 11 in shoes since I was well... 11! (And I used to wonder why I was called Bigfoot)
3. I enjoy burnt cookies better than gooey cookies (Unless it's with ice cream). Not black burnt, brown burnt.
4. Once, a pesky little fly would not leave me alone, so I killed it. I still felt bad a couple days later. Therefore, I literally won't harm a fly (anymore).
5. I would like to have an old-fashioned car (Like, a Bug or Chevy) as my first car, or at least some point in my life.
6. I don't have my permit x(
7. When I was little, I would only eat pancakes if they were shaped as Mickey-Mouse. It's true today because I still don't enjoy the taste of my mum's pancakes; they seem to taste better when they're shaped as Mickey Mouse!
8. I love to clean, and yet my room is almost always a wreck.
9. I can be a little A.D.D. at times.
10. Tags sticking out of their shirts bug the heck out of me! (O.C.D.? Yes.)
11. I've been using the same 32 oz Gatorade water bottle since about 8th grade. (Don't worry, it's washed regularly)
12. Besides a mom, I either want to be a massage therapist, a photographer, or a cosmetologist when I grow up. Maybe all three. :)
13. I am 5' 11 3/4", I don't play basketball, and I love wearing my six-inch heels :)
14. (Almost done. Thank goodness!) I think that singing & dancing at the same time for 3 songs is easier than doing jumping-jacks for a whole song (I learned this at LIGHT practice)
15. I have been dancing half of my life & I STILL can't do the splits. On the bright side, I'm closer than I used to be :)

Frying Hot Dogs At Midnight

Ya, frying hot dogs at midnight is random, but I seriously did it! I was hungry, OK? haha. Welp, I have been looking forward to writing on my blog since Tuesday! :D Seriously, a bazillion things happened this week that are worthy of being posted.
I'm just going to start by saying that it was not only missionary week, but it was also Spirit week, which is also my favorite week, so just having both of them at the same time was an extra bonus. :)
(I'm not gonna lie, I feel bad that I couldn't hug any of my guyfriends, because one of them had his birthday on Tuesday, and I was about to hug one whom I have not seen in FOREVER, but realized a second before we got into a full hug that it was missionary week, so I jumped back as if he electrocuted me or something. (Next time I see him, I'm giving him 2 hugs))
Anyways! When it comes to Spirit week, I am "one of those people" who go full-out all week. So. here are some pics. Feel free to laugh if I look ridiculous, 'cuz I'm laffin' with ya. :)

DAY 1: Cupid Day (Happy Be-lated Singles Awareness day! :D)
DAY 2: Time Machine! I went as a cave-woman :) 'Twas quite fun! :D It's kind of ironic how I was a cave-woman, & I'm considered as the "Pyro" in my jewelry class... I just like to burn everything, cuz fire is coool! hehe :)

DAY 3: Western Day! (Unfortunately, there are no cowboy boots or hats at my house, so this is how full-out we got Dx)
DAY 4: Double-Trouble Thursday! Well, technically we went as triplets... Me, my younger sister, and our friend Ryan all wore our BFF T-shirts, nerd glasses, jeans, and black shoes. I did not get a pic of all three of us that day, but at least I got this one (Excuse my dorky face)

DAY 5: Friday was White-Out Day, but I didn't go to school... [post coming soon]

Missionary Week:
I did not get as much out of it as I wanted to, but it's because my life is just insane right now, so I had many other things on my mind... I still feel bad that I didn't get much out of missionary week, though... :/
What was really cool was that we sang "Called to Serve" in a different language every day in seminary. We sang in English on Monday, Spanish on Tuesday, Portuguese on Wednesday, Tongan on Thursday, and I have no idea what language we sang in on Friday. Totally epic :)

~*~NOTE: I apologize for the side-ways-ness of most of the pictures. Blogger is being silly :( ~*~

Missionary Week!

Starting tomorrow, the seminary at my school is having missionary week! You know what that means? No Facebook, texting, or Blogger. Yep, it's going to be a little challenge, but I know that it's going to be the best week ever!

Today was nothing but LIGHT and chores. I had to get up to go to practice sooo daaaarn earrrly! Probably caught 4 1/2 Zs of sleep. But the rehearsal went so well, EVERYBODY was happy. I am so close to having all of the choreography down I can do it myself, but as far as vocals go I am behind. The director told us today that when it comes to competition, 60% of it vocals, so I'm determined to get my part down. I took a folder with all of the music home so that I could learn it all.
                                                                     Bask in the glow :)
(We probably won't do the song on the far left, but if we are, I would like to try out for the solo, if there are any try-outs. Sometimes, he just picks someone to do it. UPDATE: Try-outs for the solo on Tuesday after practice! :D)
As soon as I got home, my mom kept nagging on me to get my chores done. Bathrooms... Not my favorite, but not the worse. We have a total of three bathrooms in the whole household: the girls' bathroom, the boys' bathroom, & the master bathroom. The only one I don't like to clean is the dreaded boys' bathroom... It smells bad, but not so bad you want to gag when you first walk in. BUT the toilet seems to have this chemical reaction with the cleaner that makes it smell worse than Yellowstone Park! It's suprising, because the smell of the cleaner is so strong, you can't help but cough. (Good smell) So ya... I put on a mask whenever I clean the reeking boys' bathroom. Don't believe me? Here's proof:
It doesn't block out the odor all together, but it helps :)
Long story short, LIGHT did a performance, and it was SOOO much fun! My mom came, and two of her friends who live in the same area where we performed. Then we went to Taco Bell and pretty much discussed the movie "Tangled" on the drive home :) Awesome day :)

See you in a week!

Bunch of Random Shenanigans (Sillyness)

It's Friday, one of the seven best days of the week :) I'm considering copying what my friend Jeri does, but as of now, no tengo ganas. Well, here are some random shenanigans I've been up to...

So, I'm in Intermediate Jewelry this semester, therefore it's harder than beginning jewelry. The reason is because we work with WAX first, then metal to make jewelry. It's really not that bad, especially since we get to play with fire. Oh, how I love playing with fire! 8D Today, I officially finished my first legit ring. I had to carve it out of wax first, then do a very complicated process that turns the wax into metal. I have been trying to buff it (make it shiny) ALL week, so I gave up & asked my teacher to put it in the tumbler. I'm so proud of it, I almost don't want to give it to the friend I made it for. :) hehe

"ooh, it's shiny!"

BTW, it said on the instructions to carve your initials on the inside. By the time I found out we didn't have to, it was too late :(

A couple weeks ago, I had the urge to go outside and take pictures of stuff in the garden. To my disbelief, all of the surviving plants from last years garden died... But I found a really cool spiderweb! :D

Also, I discovered a pretty little batch of grass, and it was in the perfect place lighting-wise
What stinks is that when I want to take model pics, the people I usually go to are either not home or don't "look good". (Psh) So, I take some of myself, and my baby sister if she's happy. This time, she was happy :)

Pretty much the cutest pic ever :D

My mom is the best baker I know! Today, she is baking chocolate chip cookies for my ward's roadshow cast party tonight, & she tweaked her recipe a little bit... And holy moly, they are ahhh-mazing! :D
The yummy-goodness baking <3

How's your Friday going?

10 Random Things to be Grateful For

So, my life has been very insane lately. I decided this last week to join the Competition Choir for LIGHT, and that means that I have to earn $2000 by the end of the month, learn music & choreography for the numbers we are doing, and go to more rehearsals than ever. So ya, very crazy. I just want to take a minute to breath and talk about some things I am grateful for.
1. My talents. A couple years ago, I was not nearly confident and outgoing as I am now. I hardly ever talked, I hardly smiled, and I did not think I was good at ANYTHING. Then one day in seminary, we studied the story about the guy who buried his talent in the earth instead of developing it. So, I decided to not be like that man by developing & discovering the talents that Heavenly Father gave to me. I slowly became more and more involved with a lot of stuff, and here I am today! True, I am not the best singing, dancing, photography, or anything else I do, but I can still do it, and I'm so grateful for that. (Picture credit: Jill Adair, an amazing person)
2. My 6 year old brudder! He is like a fountain that never stops running, I'll tell you that. He is generally misunderstood because of his craziness, and I admit that I lose my patience with him, but he has this innocence and sweetness that I just love so darn much. And it's so cute when he asks me if I need help with anything when I'm having a bad day!

3. The word "Duck". So, everyday before school my carpool gets dropped off by the place where the buses go to drop off students, across the street from the Seminary building. Well, one day I looked down and noticed some graffiti on the sidewalk... with a swear word! This was super revolting to me, and I'm sure it annoyed other people too. I saw it every single day, whether I liked it or not (I need to stop looking at the ground when I walk). But then yesterday when I saw it, I noticed that some awesome person wrote "DUCK" over the other word. It just made my day! Whoever did it is my hero!

4. Carpeting in church buildings. Church starts at 8:30 AM for my ward, so my family tends to be walking in when the member of the bishopric is giving the ward business. Most of us girls wear heels to church, so I'm grateful that the carpet is there to muffle the sound so that there won't be silence except for the clicking of heels on hardwood floor. (IDK if that made any sense, but oh well)

5. Warm, fuzzy blankets. Our heat is turned off during the winter because of financial reasons. It really isn't as bad as it sounds, because I really love that feeling when it is cold, and you snuggle up under 2 fleece (aka fuzzy) blankets & your comforter with your teddy bear (I admit it: I still sleep with a teddy bear), then you feel all warm and snug as a bug. ^^ Ahhh

6. People just saying "Hi! How are you?"

7. God made us so that it's easier to smile than to frown. :D Seriously, this is one of the many ways that proves that He loves us. :)

8. Hugs! There was a time when I got at least 20 hugs a day, and therefore, I took them for granted. Next thing I new, I was hardly getting any, and it made me sad. Now, I LOVE hugs!!! :D

9. Music. Hmmm... I think it's more appropriate to write a poem about music, so I'll get back to you on this one. :)

10. Just the fact that I am alive right now, at this time and place, despite the trials that comes with it. I can write an essay on this, so just be happy with the stated fact. :)
