Growing Up in the 1940's

In those days, the kids knew how to ballroom dance.
They had fun doing to Jitterbug at the Sock Hop.
They would always love to take trips to movies, whenever the chance,
As well as to go to the shop for some soda pop.
Golly, what fun would I have if I were a kid then?

In those days, the life of the family was great.
The mothers stayed home, the fathers worked daily.
The teens never felt towards their parents a trifle of hate.
And during dinner, everyone would sit and talk gaily.
What happiness would I feel if I was a kid then?

In those days, the education was diverse.
The girls learned to sew, the boys learned to stay strong.
To them, it was not cool to smoke, drink, or curse.
They usually learned family life, hygiene, and health all long.
Wow, what smarts would I have if I were a kid then?

In those days, the World War was breaking.
The boys, at the young age of eighteen, had to go.
All of the women, girls, and children had their limbs quaking.
Aluminum drives, donations, and work, had the hope grow.
What fear would I feel if I were a kid then?

Orange Orchards

I see the blooming blossoms against the dark green leaves of the magnificent orange trees.
I smell the sweet fragrance of the citrus dancing in the breeze.
I hear the faraway thump of the round, ripe oranges as they land on the padded ground, while the leaves are quietly rustling in the wind.
I feel the coolness of the draft on my face, the soft, somewhat chilly, dirt under my feet as I walk through, and the orange I pick warming up in the palm of my hand.
I taste the bittersweet tang of the citrus fruit on my tongue as I gingerly bite into it.
I think of how lovely these trees are, and of how nice it is to spend a day in the orange orchard.
(Picture taken by Me. It's an orange, but it's not ripe, haha.)

Protect Me From the Rain

I went outside with her to take some pictures because the rain was a sprinkle outside, and she clung to my legs when I put her down. SO I took this... :)

The Little Hammers on a Piano

The title says it all :)

Time

Time is dying,
Time is flying.
It's the sign of older age,
It keeps turning the page.
Time can grow,
Time can go.
It's hard to stop;
It's hard to drop.
Time keeps life,
Time keeps strife.
It seems to be dying,
But it's truly flying.

About this Blog

Hello, fellow bloggers!
I just wanted to let you know that this blog is going to consist of my poems and my photography. I'm not really the writing type, you know, like some of my fellow friends who write about how music, and writes rants about Twilight and stuff. I will do my best to keep my Photography/Poems blog updated at least once a week, unless I don't have anything new. :)

I hope you enjoy it!
